TX200
The TX200 Mk. III is the latest version of the highly popular TX200 Series. Seen
for some time as the shooters' number one General Purpose rifle for field and target use.
Using the same tuned powerhouse as the Pro-Sport, this new version takes spring operated
rifles to a different dimension. An addition, the new model also has its own very
efficient built in silencer.
The TX200 Hunter Carbine (HC) is a short version of the TX200. This rifle has a bull
barrel with a threaded insert, which allows the fitting of an internal or external
silencer. To assist with the grip on the shorter cocking lever, we also fit a knurled
cocking aid as standard. For short manoeuvrable high performance rifle you'd be hard
pressed to find an equal

TX200 - Model Versions
History ( UK / USA differences )
Mark 1 TX200
The first TX200. No bear trap on the side. Available in UK in 12 ftlb or FAC capable of about 880 fps with Crosman
Lights. This gun was never considered the Mark 1 but got the name after the Mark 2 was
introduced, to identify it.
Mark 2
TX200
Air Arms saw fit to ad a bear trap to the side of the gun for safety.
12ftlb UK or FAC power. FAC guns varied
widely. Anywhere from 880 fps to 930 fps from time to time. This was the longest run of TX200's.
Mark 3 TX200 FAC
This is the import (US) version Mark 3. AirArms increased the
stroke about 10mm (same as ProSport) and added extra cut outs in the
compression tube because it. They are ground into it (2).
It's the easiest way to identify it. Power ranged from 940fps
to 960fps from gun to gun.
Mark 4 TX200 FAC
Jim Maccari asked for AirArms to install the gold plated triggers that was used on the
ProSports for him specifically. Air Arms also left the slip washers over the rear
guide behind and replaced it with a guide with the washer swaged in place. J. Maccari also asked for better looking
wood. To complicate things the last
shipment of guns had some that didn't have the Gold trigger. Bottom line, the
Mark 3 & 4 were about the
same thing with a few slight "non performance" changes. Velocity was the same as Mark 3 FAC.
Mark 5
TX200 FAC
This version goes to a full length barrel shroud with a silencer
built in. Otherwise, the internals will remain
the same as the Mark 4. Performance will be the same as the Mark 3 & 4. The UK 12ftlb version
of this gun is dubbed the Mark
3 UK since there were no changes in the 12ftlb guns from Mark 2 till this one.
TX200SR
They were available in the Mark 1 and Mark 2 runs. Their action was mounted on a rail system that would let the action move back
when fired. This would give the feeling the gun wasn't
recoiling. Bushing and Oring wear cause group shifts on
many. Their trigger was also prone to going out of adjustment. Air Arms dropped them from the line. They're no longer available.
Notes:
FAC
In the United Kingdom law requires that a airgun not produce over
12ftlbs of energy or it is deemed a Firearm. If
you want to own a airgun in the UK over the limit you must apply for a (F)ire
(A)rms (C)ertificate. FAC for short or full power.
In the United States and in Portugal (and in all other countries where such legal limits
do not apply) you should make your option for the full power guns.
Earlier Models
When you decide to buy a Air Arms TX200 rifle note that you will only be able to find
current production models on the shops. Earlier models are not made anymore. If you do
want one of those earlier models, you'll have to buy it used.
